Destination Jersey City: The Insiders Guide

Hey kids, are you local folks using Destination Jersey City as a resource to things going on around town? If not, you should be. I can't even count how many times people pop into the shop and ask me where I get all my local info, so here's my tip: Destination Jersey City, Jersey City Independent and New magazine. Don't mess around.

There is something for everyone in Jersey City, from unique cultural gifts to big name luxury brand stores; but with the holidays around the corner, we wanted to highlight a few shops ringing in the spirit of the season. Having to limit myself to just ten was no easy task, but if you are in the mood for quirky, homemade, trendy, sporty, vintage or just plain fun these stores might have something for you. Down in Exchange Place you will find the perfect gift for the romantic at heart. Camille Cesari, owner of Love Print, will take your personal impression and cast it into a precious metal.  Finger prints or paw prints are set into soft wax, and then cast by hand creating a beautiful organic custom works of art.
Looking for a bit of holiday glamour, look no further! Deen carries a unique mix of designer labels as well as up and coming talent, with fashions for both men and women. You will find premium denim, tees, totes and accessories all uniquely styled, home décor selections as well as pet goods.
For the holidays, Kanibal Home is offering card making and other crafting classes to help you send warm wishes to your family and friends. Most of the store is filled with one-of-a-kind objects, home furnishings, vintage dishware, and found objects. They also offer jewelry and eco-friendly apparel, a place where history meets glam. Kanibal’s motto: Pretty things make life beautiful.
Need to bundle up for the cold weather…head to Tia’s Place for all of your outerwear needs. Sorry gentlemen, this one is for ladies only. For the fashionista on your list you will find a fabulous selection of coats, gloves, hats, sweaters and boots. At Tia’s Place you will find great prices, key pieces, original antiques, jewelry, candles and home décor.
