New Items in the Shop

Sometimes I REALLY get excited about deliveries. So much so that I think UPS and FedEx dread coming into the shop. I rush at them, trying to "help" when in reality all these guys want to do is drop the boxes and get on their way.

Especially today. It was a particularly heavy mix of boxes and as I rounded the corner from behind my desk the delivery guy made eye contact over the cardboard and warned, "Whoa, lady. Let me drop them on the counter. One second and they're all yours."

So after confirming that the boxes were indeed what I was waiting for, I'm THRILLED to announce that Kanibal Home will now be carrying a limited range of decorating, curiosity and craft books!!!

I'm so excited. The teenage nerd in me is doing a completely awkward and embarrassing happy dance.

Crafty Kanibal: Not Yo Mama's Craft Fair

Yesterday I set up (a pop up) shop with Rita and Sam, the talented duo from Rubella Jewelry, at the 3rd annual Not Yo Mama's craft fair in Jersey City. It was a busy morning for me flitting back and forth from the shop to the fair, but completely worth the hustle. I got to hang out with Rubella all day and ogle their glorious goods and yell next door to Laura from Swallow & the Swift who had an equally impressive spread. My wonderful customers and friends breezed in and out of our booth all day and I even scoped out some new vendors and scooped up a few treats for myself (something I rarely do these days because I'm usually just shopping for Kanibal Home).

And just when I thought the day couldn't get any better, Shana from MakeupbySha (who might have a blossoming photography career) sent me over these terrific shots from our booth:

(A few offerings from Rubella)

(Kanibal Home's collection of Curiosity Vials - $10)

(Kanibal Home's shell slice necklaces - $5)

(Kanibal Home's killer bee vial necklaces - $35)

(KH's collection of vintage magazines - $2)

(Chef the dog -- hot, bothered, but happy to be visiting all the booths)

(Whispering sweet nothings into Rita's ear)

(Rubella is bringing back the lucky rabbit's foot)

(A grouping of Rubella's wares)

(Rubella's custom key necklaces)

Listen: Get Up Kids - Stay Gold, Ponyboy

Does this even need an introduction? The teenage version of me wore this album out. And yes, I'm still a super nerd and listen to this shit.

Kanibal Home and Rubella Jewelry will be there this Saturday .... will you? (That's a rhetorical question. You better be there!)

New Items in the Shop

We're stacked like a teen prom queen! (I don't know if that makes sense, but the idea is there.)

Actually, what I'm trying to say is that the shop is stocked with some great finds, interesting treasures and a TON of new furniture.

(New wood wall area ... gothic vanity and lighting)

(Obsessed with these glass and metal hanging pillar candle holders)

(Floral scarves)

(Wine cabinet with drawers)

(Vintage trunk with working lock and key as well as assorted treasures like an old dictionary, wooden tool box and train lamp)

(The perfect little industrial metal + wood cart with casters!)

(Vintage lockers make a cute nook to hang vibrant totes)

(Show everyone your crabs with this canvas tote! -- hehe)

(A better solution to staging all of the shop's necklaces ...)

(Mirrored half-round table)
