The lovely Miriam Kovacs (one of my best friends from high school and an amazing chef) showed up on Friday night to start cooking for Saturday's bash. And man, did she cook. I got out of the shower on Saturday morning to the delicious smell of roasting tomatoes.
Here's a peak at what we got to devour:
(Yes, that's deviled eggs, homemade pickled cucumber tea sandwiches, tapenade, feta and watermelon skewers, polenta squares and risotto cakes.)
(Polenta squares with pistachios and bacon. Why bacon? Because it makes everything better.)
Then on Sunday, Jersey City's Michelle Johnston taught a great butterfly pinning class (images and a full description to be posted later this week) and on Monday I attended the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) and the National Stationary Show.
Both are always fun to attend, but I really went crazy at the Stationary Show this year. I stayed focus and visited the booths on my mental list and snatched up a ton of great designs.
