New Stationary: La Familia Green

Kanibal Home is thrilled to now be carrying cards by La Familia Green!

A little background: La Familia Green is quirky couple and company out of Chicago that takes pride in handmade objects that are both creative and eco-friendly. They only use paper and envelopes that are 30 - 100% post consumer recycled. The clear sleeves that the cards come tucked in are also biodegradable, sustainable and compostable. And (I LOVE this) La Familia Green uses a percentage of all sales to support local no-kill animal shelters in Chicago.

We Got Your Back

Yea, this is one of the new cardigans from Scrapbook Originals. Hello hotness.

Kanibal Home <3 's Jersey City

After MANY months of work, I'm happy to announce that the new canvas bags have gone to the printer and should be in the shop within the week!

A lot of you probably remember our first round of limited-edition bags we gave out during the shop's launch in May. They were a big hit, so we wanted to thank all our loyal customers with a brand new bag. It's hard for businesses these days and, six months later, we're still here in downtown Jersey City. This is my home and the home of all the people that have made the shop a success. Sooooo ...

A big thanks to all the local artists and musicians that perform or display their goods in the shop, especially Brian Morrison, Jade Kuei / Mumbot, Laura from Swallow and the Swift, Kim and Patrick from Oh My Vintage, Ashley Lucas, James and Shauna from Finch, Amelia from Con Vivo Jersey City and all our (new and old) friends and family.

Enjoy the new tote:

Get it? Kanibal Home hearts Jersey City.

New New and More New Clothing

In addition to the below pieces that just arrived in the shop (hello, who wouldn't want to LIVE in that flannel?), Kanibal Home will now be carrying a completely new brand called Scrapbook Originals. I'm not posting any pictures, though, because it's that amazing. Think, cardigans with open lace backs and printed details and cotton jackets that come with bright yellow scarves. That's just a taste. You'll have to come in and see it for yourself.

KH Welcomes Finch

I'd like to introduce you, loyal reader, to something that's going to blow your mind. It's also something that's sure to save you this holiday season. Stop hunting for that one-of-a-kind gift. Kanibal Home's got your back. Or rather, your bird.

Check out the amazingness that is FINCH, the newest artist duo to enter the shop. Not only are they local Jersey City artists and handmade advocates, but they are also a seriously talented couple that fell in love -- with each other (they're engaged) and with birds. Shauna paints the beautiful bird portraits on wood blocks that James brings home and James (painstakingly) carves and paints all the delicate bird decorations/ornaments.

Here's a peak at what we have in the shop, but you can also check out their blog here:

J-City Event at LITM

Hey kids - For those of you who are Jersey City residents, stop by LITM tonight and check out Kanibal Home's featured artist Jade Kuei. Jade makes those amazing wearable art brooches that you see in the shop. Here's the info:
